ESA Congress 13th - Debrecen (Hungary)

 The XIIIth ESA congress  will be hosted by the Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences of the University of Debrecen, Hungary, between 25-28 August 2014.

The main objectives of the 13th ESA Congress are:

  • to communicate the latest scientific results in crop sciences
  • to promote the scientific collaboration
  • to increase the cooperation the private and public scientific sectors
  • to enlarge the membership of ESA in all regions
  • to give information about Hungarian agriculture focusing on crop production
  • to rise attentions of scientists and politicians on the solutions how to put together sustainability and competitiveness in crop production

The 13th ESA Congress will highlight and focus the most important issues and challenges in crop sciences which are the followings:

  • Crop production and agroecology
  • Competitive and sustainable crop production
  • Crop modeling
  • Innovation in crop production (interaction between public and private sectors)
  • New challenges in farm systems design
  • Legumes in farming systems
  • Crop science for changing environments (climate, soil, hydrology, microbiology etc.)
  • Crop science - crop quality - human health and nutrition

During the Congress, a field-trip will be offered (Látókép Experimental Station – long-term and traditional field experiments) with special social-tourist programmes (Hortobágy puszta and Tokaj wine-region, both UNESCO world heritage).
